Old palaces are historical monuments whose cultural value is of national importance. It is therefore that the Ministry of Education and Culture has included their restoration in the Development Project of Objects of Cultural Tourism, in the second Year's Plan. The Kraton Surakarta has during the 1974-1975 period undergone a restoration of certain parts. A special guidebook has now written to provide the Visitor with the necessary information as regard it's historical background, parts of building, the collection of ceremonial objects and at last thetraditional event held at the Palace.
